Inside the magnificent 17th-century Palacio de Valeriola, right in the heart of Valencia’s old town, lies the Centro de Arte Hortensia Herrero, a breathtaking dialogue between heritage and contemporary. It is spread across 3,500 meter sq and 17 gallery rooms over four floors, the center showcases over 100 artworks by more than 50 internationally celebrated artists, including Anish Kapoor, Andreas Gursky, Olafur Eliasson, Eduardo Chillida, Joan Miro and more. Many of these pieces were commissioned especially for this location that are hidden in chapels, gardens, corridors, even an ancient Roman basement unearthed during restoration.
