Besides the picturesque and interesting places, Baku offers an authentic shopping experience. You can find a number of street markets that makes you aware of the real authentic Azerbaijan culture. Here’s a roundup of popular street markets or bazaars of Baku which attracts thousands of tourists.
Travelers who’re looking to explore the local Azerbaijan culture and oldest street market of the country should take a trip to Taza Bazaar. Situated in the midway between Nizami and 28 May Metro Station, Taza Bazaar is the largest bazaar in Baku. It has six entrances. This 80-year old bazaar provides a great choice of fresh sturgeon, seafood, vegetables, spices, jams, Beluga caviar, etc. Stroll around and experience the authentic side of the city.
Timings: Daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Known as Green Market, Yashil Bazaar offers an authentic Azerbaijani experience. If you want to eat Azeri delicatessen, you must head to the Yashil Bazaar since you are unlikely to find them in supermarkets. Green market is a favorite choice for locals. You can find fresh and organic vegetables and fruits that are brought from every corner of the country. The bazaar is famous for dried fruits like figs, apricots, grenade seeds, oranges etc. Besides these, Green Market is great place to find caviar, sturgeons, saffron, and much more.
It’s better to visit the market in the morning if you want to buy fresh goods while the evening is the best time if you wish to observe. Don’t forget to bargain to save a little money for you.

The Nasimi Bazaar is a popular bazaar that is named after the famous poet of the country İmamaddin Nasimi. Visit the bazaar to get the best room flowers that you haven’t seen or bought before. You can buy a variety flowers at the lowest prices. At the same time, you can find the delicious sweet cherries at low costs.
Located in Sabunchu, The Russian Flea Market is a popular weekend market for its old clothes, junks, and electronics. From needle to household items, you can find a number of goods here. You can buy t-shirts as low as 0.20 Cents, shoes for 0.50 cents, pots for $3-4, and jeans for $1 in Russian Flea Market.
People say that the tradition of selling old stuff was brought by the Russians to earn additional income during tough Soviet times. This traditional flea market is running until today.
Timings: On Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Spending time in the medieval Icheri Sheher is one of the must do things when you’re visiting Baku. Strolling through the historical streets will give you opportunities to buy traditional Azerbaijani carpets. A number of stalls are located in Icheri Sheher selling typical souvenirs like keychains, Soviet memorabilia, and fridge magnets.

Bargain hunters must stroll through the streets of the Baku to find different bazaars like Kishlina Bazaar, 8 KM Bazaar, Central Bazaar, etc. to enjoy shopping while experiencing the soul of the city. When you are wandering through the streets you can spot people selling cars, flowers, souvenirs, metalwork, and traditional Azerbaijan food.
